ENHANCING SUBSTRATE PROTECTION
Momentive’s versatile silicone coatings additives offer the properties and flexibility our customers need to enhance the application, adherence and durability of their coating systems. Our additives may help to improve processing operations by providing the ability to tailor wetting, defoaming and release characteristics. And they help extend reapplication intervals by imparting improved gloss retention mar, UV and corrosion resistance properties. We work with our customers to find the right combination of properties to ensure compatibility between additives and coatings, and to deliver long-lasting results
Our CoatOSil* coatings additives and Silquest* silanes are excellent candidates to consider for an array of industries and applications, including water- and solvent-borne coatings, high solids inks, primers, and powder and ultraviolet/electron beam (UV/EB) cure coatings. These products can deliver advanced properties for applications such as automotive clear coats and refinish systems, coatings for transportation and aerospace, wood coatings, protective coatings for flooring, marine, coil, industrial maintenance, and other demanding applications.
Our CoatOSil coatings additives offer multiple advantages to enhance the appearance and longevity of coated surfaces, including increased substrate wetting, mar resistance and gloss retention, as well as excellent chemical, UV and corrosion resistance. Their enhanced flow and leveling properties also help to eliminate defects in finish surfaces.
CoatOSil coatings additives, as well as our Silquest silanes, can provide moisture-initiated crosslinking in properly modified resins for coatings and inks, as well as offer improved wet adhesion, chemical and corrosion resistance, weatherability, pigment dispersion, and scrub resistance. CoatOSil coatings additives and Silquest silanes may also enhance the durability of coatings by delivering improved thermal stability, creep resistance and hardness.
